moma consists of six stories. i saw lots of van gough, matisse and raol dufy. i would have loved to admire pollocks work but didn't have time. i noticed while doing a van gough master copy the painting itself was not as complex as i had invisioned. the thick lines and value were easy to imitate. i was surprised at how close i could come to the "starry night". i imagined "starry night to be much bigger and more regal than it was. crowds gather around the more famous piecesl like this one and rapidly snap photographs. people seemed surprised i was drawing in the museum...many took my photograph as a was working which made me a bit uncomfortable. at four thirty, catherine, emilie and myself walked to fifth avenue to delve into some shopping. after an hour on fifth we headed to loemans (discount designer clothing) on 14th street. on the way home i sat by a beautiful indian girl who held 3 exotic birds on her fingers. i tried to get a good photo in but the trains motion gave me lots of blurry pictures. got sushi after an unsuccessful shopping outing and im off to work on my sketch book. wish me luck!
