so my post is really late... the rush of everything the past few days has been unbelievable for me; so it's weird but I'm actually getting to rest now that I'm in NY. Finally!
I'm erica and I haven't been to the city in almost a decade-I couldn't be more excited. I LOVE good food and shopping and meeting people so I think this trip should be a blast. See you guys soon!
ps- this is my first ever blog...

Much better, but I am still bringing my raincoat

Hey! I'm Sarah Joyner, and i'm a senior from Clinton, MS. I don't have time to write a lot because it's 1:40, BUT i'm so excited about the trip and meeting the rest of you that I don't know. I love new york, and i can't wait to learn more about the city, as well as draw it. peeace outtttt
Hey ladies and gents! I am Dani Griffin from Brandon, MS. I just graduated in May with my degree in marketing communications, but I am sticking it out one more year to get my art studio minor with an emphasis in graphic design. I am sooooo excited about NYC, because I have never been. I am looking forward to the challenge of drawing the city and enhancing my skills. See ya in class.

Hello!

Hi everyone! I am Catherine Cartwright! I am from Memphis, TN and next year I will be a senior, even though I am not sure if I will be finished to graduate in May! I am really excited about this class and getting to know everyone since I only know a couple of you! I have a wide range of interests so I cannot wait to get to NYC and explore everything! I am actually an Art History major, so some of you studio art majors will have to help me out with my compositions!

I am looking forward to getting to know more people and broadening my horizons! I am also very excited to be submerged into the wonderful culture of NYC...I have never taken an art class in such an influential city and I am excited to see the work that we all produce there. Mainly I hope to come back home with a great experience, different points of view and of course with better drawing skills.

Hi there!

Hey, I'm Emilie. I'm from Columbia, LA (little town south of Monroe). We don't even have a Wal-Mart. I'm a senior art major and hopefully heading to LSU next year for grad school in architecture.

I enjoy getting to know new people and traveling so that makes draw NY all that much more appealing to me. Love thrilling things like stunt planes and mtn climbing but also enjoy reading and being a couch potato. Almost all of my money goes to good food and live music.  I have a dog, Petey, who is a great little walking buddy and tail-wagger.

On this trip, I would like to further my drawing skills and learn how to let my drawing environment influence my work. I'm excited to figure out how to portray such a fast pace city on a single piece of paper.
hey gang! my name is robert and i'll be a senior this fall. i am from jackson, ms and my major is art...emphasis in graphic design. i have been in oxford all summer taking summer school, so i CANNOT WAIT to get out of here and get to new york. i've been to new york about 4 times, and i see a different side of it every time i go; that is why i love it. i have never been to all the museums, or seen it from a strictly artistic point of view before, and that is what i am so excited about. also, i think we are all going to have an aweeeeesome time. i mean cmon, how can we not??
see yall tomorrow!

hello everybody, my name is wyatt harris. I am from Memphis, Tennessee and went to high school at Memphis University School where I played lacrosse for six years and served as an executive member on the civic service board. I have a little brother who will be a senior in high school this year. I love NBA basketball and college football, and hip-hop/rap is my favorite genre of music.

I hope to strengthen my drawing skills during this class and experience new york in a different way. I have been before, but for leisure, so I am excited to draw and be in New York!

hey everyone! i'm so excited to be in new york with all of you. this will be my second trip to the big apple. i'd like to tell you a few things about me so you can know me a little better! i was raised in ridgeland, ms. i have a brother and a sister both younger than me. i attended jackson prep in middle and high school. although i'm not that good at yoga i love it. i also like photography, traveling, biking and just hanging out. i plan to work at the brilliant easel this fall.

I hope to gain more knowledge about art throughout the trip. I would love to come home with some drawings i could use in my portfolio. Next semester will be my junior year and  I will apply for my BFA in graphic design. I hope the knowledge I gain will help me succeed with my future career plans.

cant wait to learn more about all of you,

xoxo
